Job Description

Overview

  • Join the Print and Mail Services department to support mailroom operations and ensure efficient mail delivery and processing.
  • Handle both U.S.P.S. and on-campus mail sorting and delivery, contributing to seamless communication within the organization.
  • Operate and maintain mail machines and software, ensuring accurate and timely mail processing.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through various communication channels, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Assist in bulk mail preparation and metering, utilizing industry-standard technologies and equipment.
  • Support print operations, including poster preparation, printing, and mounting, using specialized equipment and software.
  • Participate in training for forklift operation and other relevant machinery to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to maintaining a professional and organized mailroom environment, adhering to established procedures and standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Sort and prepare U.S.P.S. and on-campus mail for daily deliveries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Deliver mail and packages on designated campus routes, supporting faculty and administrators.
  • Operate Quadient mail machines and software for metered mail processing, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Provide professional customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions, addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Assist in bulk mail preparation, metering, and troubleshooting mail services technologies.
  • Support print operations, including usage of printing equipment and software for posters and other materials.
  • Participate in training for forklift operation and other machinery as required for mailroom operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized mailroom environment, adhering to safety and operational standards.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, with entry-level experience in mailroom operations preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with 2 years preferred for optimal performance.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license required for operating mailroom vehicles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with mail management software like Quadient or EMS.
  • Knowledge of print and mail center functions, including USPS regulations and WebCRD software, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to flexible schedules, including holidays and overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate mail processing and delivery.
  • Willingness to undergo training for specialized equipment and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
