Overview
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in a dynamic legal environment.
- Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda.
- Organize and manage legal files using document management systems.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, appointments, and meetings efficiently.
- Assist with client engagement processes, including conflict checks and matter openings.
- Support attorneys in preparing proposals and qualifications requests.
- Submit attorney billable time and expenses accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless workflow and task completion.
- Handle additional administrative tasks as required to support the team.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Draft and revise legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda for attorneys.
- Manage and organize legal files using iManage and other systems.
- Coordinate scheduling for depositions and court reporters.
- Assist with client engagement, including preparing engagement letters and conflict checks.
- Maintain attorney calendars, appointments, and meetings effectively.
- Support proposal and qualification request processes.
- Submit attorney billable time and expenses accurately.
- Provide overflow assistance and handle additional tasks as needed.
- Ensure adherence to legal procedures and court rules in all tasks.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; additional certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal assistant experience in a law firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe.
- Knowledge of iManage and Orion systems preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills essential.
- Fundamental understanding of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented with excellent multitasking abilities.
