Overview

  • Contribute to a dynamic real estate development firm as a Senior Accountant, overseeing financial reporting and administrative tasks to support organizational growth and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with investment and development teams to address financial matters, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage treasury functions, construction draws, and payments for development properties, maintaining meticulous records and financial oversight.
  • Coordinate audit and tax preparation activities, liaising with external auditors and tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Work closely with property managers on stabilized properties, ensuring seamless financial operations and reporting.
  • Provide administrative support, including office management tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency of the firm.
  • Engage with upper management, including the CFO, CEO, and CIO, to align financial strategies with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare construction draws, maintain financial records, and process payments for development properties.
  • Collaborate with investment and development teams to resolve financial issues and support deal structuring.
  • Manage treasury functions, ensuring liquidity and financial stability for ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate audit and tax preparation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Work with property managers to oversee financial operations for stabilized properties.
  • Support office administration tasks, contributing to organizational efficiency and workflow management.
  • Engage with upper management to align financial strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Utilize Excel for financial analysis and reporting, ensuring accuracy and clarity in data presentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or Finance, with a strong foundation in financial principles.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with 4 years preferred, ideally within the real estate development sector.
  • Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and reporting; advanced skills are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with financial reporting, treasury functions, and audit/tax preparation coordination.
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required; work longevity is highly valued.
  • Ability to work on-site with occasional remote work as needed.
