Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a key member of the legal team, supporting corporate governance and investment fund operations.
  • Draft and manage legal documentation for regulatory filings and corporate governance.
  • Assist in the formation and maintenance of corporate entities and investment funds.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage document retention systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address legal inquiries and requests.
  • Support special projects and initiatives within the legal department.
  • Contribute to the preparation and filing of registration statements and other regulatory documentation.
  • Provide assistance in opening custody and trading accounts for investment funds.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Draft and coordinate corporate governance documentation, including agendas, notices, resolutions, and minutes.
  • Manage and maintain legal documentation for corporate entities and investment funds.
  • Prepare and file regulatory documentation for registered investment companies.
  • Respond to investor questionnaires and client requests for proposals.
  • Support the opening of custody and trading accounts for investment funds.
  • Assist with regulatory and tax filings to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate on special projects to enhance legal operations and workflows.
  • Maintain the firm's proprietary relationship management system for investment funds.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree with a strong academic record.
  • Minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience; 8 years preferred.
  • Experience managing corporate and investment fund-related legal documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
  • Understanding of financial markets, securities, and asset classes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
