Overview
- Provide expert respiratory therapy services to patients in a healthcare setting, ensuring optimal pulmonary function and patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement effective respiratory treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Perform consultations during patient admissions or stays as requested by the facility.
- Conduct follow-up evaluations and adjust treatment plans based on clinical indications and patient progress.
- Assist patients with breathing exercises and educate them on respiratory health and management techniques.
- Document patient care services accurately in medical records to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment and support.
- Provide staff education and competency training as requested by the facility.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assessments for respiratory conditions in patients.
- Monitor and manage respiratory equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety.
- Develop and implement respiratory therapy treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy plans by observing and documenting patient progress.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
- Valid New York State Respiratory Therapist license is required.
- Minimum of six months of experience within the last two years in respiratory therapy.
- Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and monitoring of respiratory equipment.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary medical team.
- Competency in providing care and relating to the older adult population.
- Flexibility to work on-site as per the facility's scheduling needs.
