Overview

  • Lead preconstruction efforts for diverse commercial construction projects, ensuring seamless transitions from concept to execution.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to develop accurate budgets and schedules.
  • Drive estimating activities, design coordination, and cost control to optimize project outcomes.
  • Identify and address project risks, constructability challenges, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Present detailed budgets, cost models, and analysis to clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ensure smooth handoff from preconstruction to operations through clear scope definition and communication.
  • Utilize historical cost data to refine preconstruction processes and strategies.
  • Mentor and develop preconstruction team members, fostering professional growth and expertise.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop comprehensive budgets at conceptual, schematic, and detailed design stages.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align design development with project objectives and constraints.
  • Manage estimating processes, including quantity takeoffs, pricing, and scope alignment.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks and constructability issues during preconstruction phases.
  • Analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing to ensure competitive and accurate cost estimates.
  • Support schedule development and phasing strategies to optimize project timelines.
  • Contribute to business development efforts through proposals and client presentations.
  • Guide and mentor team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within commercial construction.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and construction technology platforms.
  • Strong expertise in conceptual estimating and design phase cost modeling.
  • Experience managing large-scale industrial, commercial, or municipal projects.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methods and practices.
