Overview
- Perform advanced MRI procedures adhering to industry standards and organizational protocols for accurate diagnostic imaging.
- Educate patients on MRI procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the imaging process.
- Administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice, ensuring patient safety.
- Monitor patient conditions during imaging, responding promptly to any changes or concerns.
- Prepare and maintain MRI equipment, performing quality checks and troubleshooting as needed.
- Analyze imaging results, ensuring high-quality diagnostics and addressing any technical issues.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care and imaging services.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all imaging activities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Review patient history and physician orders to plan and schedule MRI procedures effectively.
- Educate patients on MRI procedures, addressing concerns and ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
- Administer contrast media or medications as required, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions during imaging, responding promptly to any changes or emergencies.
- Prepare and calibrate MRI equipment, selecting appropriate parameters for optimal imaging results.
- Perform MRI procedures, ensuring accurate positioning and high-quality image acquisition.
- Analyze imaging results, addressing quality issues and ensuring diagnostic accuracy.
- Document and transmit imaging results, maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program with MRI certification or registry eligibility.
- Registered as a Technologist (RT) with MRI certification or eligibility.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in MRI imaging; 2 years preferred.
- Proficient in operating MRI equipment and analyzing imaging results effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
