Job Description

Overview

  • Manage record-keeping and financial reporting for private equity investment partnerships, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with fund controllers to oversee cash operations and financial reporting analyst teams.
  • Analyze investment transactions and valuations, applying sound judgment for proper accounting and classification.
  • Prepare capital calls, distribution notices, and financial statements with detailed footnotes.
  • Ensure compliance with limited partnership agreements and advise clients on accounting principles.
  • Utilize advanced systems and technology for efficient financial management and reporting.
  • Provide client-facing services, presenting investment performance and management reports effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee journal entries and maintain general ledger for assigned partnerships.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
  • Prepare and review capital calls and distribution notices for partners.
  • Apply partnership agreement terms to financial reporting and allocations.
  • Advise clients on current accounting principles and their application.
  • Review and approve work of cash operations and financial reporting teams.
  • Analyze investment performance and present results to clients.
  • Ensure compliance with tax filings and management report requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in fund accounting; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and investment analysis.
  • Strong understanding of limited partnership agreements and accounting principles.
  • Experience with advanced financial systems and technology.
  • Excellent client service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and review team outputs effectively.
