Overview
- Serve as a key member of the Information Governance team, ensuring compliance with data management policies and procedures.
- Coordinate file management operations, including intake, releases, destruction requests, and data access processes.
- Develop and implement plans for workflow organization and project completion with minimal supervision.
- Provide training and consultation to firm personnel on data storage and governance best practices.
- Ensure compliance with records retention policies and maintain meticulous documentation of file dispositions.
- Protect and manage sensitive, confidential, and proprietary information within the firm.
- Contribute to enhancing the Information Governance program through innovative solutions and practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate and perform all aspects of Information Governance processes, ensuring adherence to firm policies.
- Organize physical and electronic files, following offsite storage procedures and utilizing records management systems.
- Consult and train staff and lawyers on information governance principles and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve the Information Governance program through innovative solutions and practices.
- Maintain compliance with records retention procedures and document file dispositions accurately.
- Ensure the security and privacy of sensitive and confidential information within the firm.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Governance or Records Management.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in a law firm environment.
- Extensive knowledge of information governance, data security, and privacy principles.
- Proficiency in records management systems and workflow organization.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective consultation and training.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in coordinating major projects and ensuring their successful completion.
