Overview

  • Lead mechanical engineering projects in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, ensuring compliance with GMP standards and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate across multiple offices and teams to deliver innovative solutions for existing facilities and ground-up projects.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior designers, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Engage in industry organizations and professional societies to represent the client and contribute to thought leadership.
  • Participate in client interfacing and business development activities to strengthen relationships and expand project opportunities.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with minimal travel, focusing on local and regional projects.
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to lead technical direction and ensure project success.
  • Contribute to the client’s reputation as a leader in pharmaceutical and life sciences engineering.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee design direction and provide technical guidance for mechanical engineering projects.
  • Conduct quality control and design reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Mentor junior designers, fostering skill development and professional growth.
  • Interface directly with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate across multiple offices to leverage expertise and resources for project success.
  • Manage and oversee a team of designers working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Participate in industry presentations and professional societies to represent the client.
  • Assist with client development and marketing efforts to expand business opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • 10–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in GMP/pharmaceutical environments.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
  • Strong expertise in design leadership and technical direction for complex projects.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing teams of designers.
  • Familiarity with Revit software is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Ability to interface with clients and participate in business development activities.
  • Willingness to travel minimally and work in a hybrid environment.
