Overview
- Lead mechanical engineering projects in the pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors, ensuring compliance with GMP standards and technical excellence.
- Collaborate across multiple offices and teams to deliver innovative solutions for existing facilities and ground-up projects.
- Provide mentorship and oversight to junior designers, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Engage in industry organizations and professional societies to represent the client and contribute to thought leadership.
- Participate in client interfacing and business development activities to strengthen relationships and expand project opportunities.
- Work in a hybrid environment with minimal travel, focusing on local and regional projects.
- Utilize subject matter expertise to lead technical direction and ensure project success.
- Contribute to the client’s reputation as a leader in pharmaceutical and life sciences engineering.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee design direction and provide technical guidance for mechanical engineering projects.
- Conduct quality control and design reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Mentor junior designers, fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Interface directly with clients to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Collaborate across multiple offices to leverage expertise and resources for project success.
- Manage and oversee a team of designers working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Participate in industry presentations and professional societies to represent the client.
- Assist with client development and marketing efforts to expand business opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
- 10–15 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in GMP/pharmaceutical environments.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
- Strong expertise in design leadership and technical direction for complex projects.
- Experience in mentoring and managing teams of designers.
- Familiarity with Revit software is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to interface with clients and participate in business development activities.
- Willingness to travel minimally and work in a hybrid environment.
