Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee inpatient and outpatient operating rooms, pre-op and post-op care, and sterile processing.
- Develop and monitor quality improvement initiatives and clinical pathways with medical staff.
- Manage staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
- Monitor performance indicators, patient outcomes, and staff performance to identify improvement areas.
- Lead recruitment, retention, training, and professional development initiatives for surgical staff.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork among surgical personnel and hospital leadership.
- Serve as a liaison between surgical services and executive leadership, providing updates and recommendations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
- Current RN license and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in surgical nursing.
- Preferred 5 years of experience in surgical nursing and leadership roles.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements for surgical services.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in capital planning and resource management for surgical equipment and technology.
- Ability to foster collaboration and teamwork among surgical staff and hospital leadership.
