Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist surgeons during procedures, performing tasks such as tissue handling, suturing, and wound management.
  • Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to develop individualized perioperative care plans.
  • Monitor patient responses intraoperatively and adjust care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Administer medications and manage interventions following established protocols and standards.
  • Evaluate patient progress postoperatively and provide guidance for recovery and care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance surgical care standards and practices.
  • Educate patients and families about perioperative processes and postoperative care procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with professional practice standards, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications are advantageous.
  • Active RN license and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of perioperative nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in surgical techniques, perioperative care standards, and patient assessment.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills for effective patient care planning.
