Job Description

Overview

  • Lead R&D tax credit projects, providing expert tax advice and navigating complex regulations.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure projects meet firm standards and deadlines.
  • Conduct fieldwork, research tax issues, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Support business development activities, including client proposals and pursuit strategies.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Engage with clients across diverse industries, including technology, manufacturing, and hospitality.
  • Utilize advanced analytical skills to optimize tax strategies and compliance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Visit client locations to gather data, analyze accounting information, and prepare tax computations.
  • Manage multiple project tasks, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Supervise R&D projects, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Develop and present proposals for new business opportunities.
  • Amend tax returns and ensure accurate documentation of findings.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance project outcomes.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and court cases relevant to R&D credits.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
  • 6-10 years of experience in R&D tax credits or related areas.
  • CPA or JD/active attorney's license required.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state R&D rules and tax return mechanics.
  • Proven project management experience with ability to manage multiple engagements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to client sites and work additional hours as needed.
  • Experience in industries such as technology, manufacturing, and hospitality is a plus.
