Overview

  • Assist in a dynamic dental clinic, supporting students and faculty in delivering high-quality patient care and maintaining operational efficiency.
  • Perform four-handed dentistry, ensuring operatories are prepared, instruments sterilized, and the environment is clean and safe.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring seamless clinic functionality and organization.
  • Provide empathetic patient care guidance, fostering effective communication and trust with patients.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance clinic efficiency and promote a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Support flexible clinic hours, including evenings and weekends, demonstrating commitment to patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining certifications and immunization requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assist students in performing dental procedures, ensuring adherence to clinic protocols and standards.
  • Prepare and sanitize operatories between patient visits, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Coordinate dental instrument sterilization processes, adhering to established guidelines.
  • Monitor and organize inventory levels, ensuring availability of necessary supplies.
  • Guide students in patient management techniques, promoting effective communication and care practices.
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to support operations and enhance patient experiences.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment, efficiently managing multiple operatories and assisting students simultaneously.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; formal dental assistant training preferred.
  • Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant License and CPR certification mandatory.
  • Radiology certification required; Expanded Functions or Formal Training certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools for documentation and administrative tasks.
  • Experience in dental practice settings, showcasing knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with bilingual abilities preferred.
