Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead estimating efforts for commercial construction projects, including ground-up and renovation initiatives, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates using advanced software tools and methodologies.
- Analyze construction documents, specifications, and materials to develop precise cost projections.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable partnerships.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor bids to maintain quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with project management and field teams during preconstruction and project turnover phases.
- Participate in client meetings, presenting estimates and contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Mentor junior estimators and preconstruction staff, fostering skill development and team growth.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial construction estimating; 10 years preferred.
- Proficiency in conceptual estimating and hard bids across diverse construction sectors.
- Strong skills in advanced estimating software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to accurately interpret construction documents and specifications.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required as a minimum educational qualification.
