Job Description

Overview

  • Manage and oversee multi-state payroll operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to streamline payroll workflows and enhance system efficiency.
  • Provide expertise in Workday payroll system implementation, administration, and optimization.
  • Conduct audits to ensure payroll accuracy and recommend improvements to internal controls.
  • Support leadership with payroll metrics, analysis, and forecasting insights.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and taxable benefits reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of comprehensive payroll documentation and compliance guidelines.
  • Ensure timely resolution of payroll-related inquiries and issues.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee complete payroll processing cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Validate payroll data, including deductions, garnishments, and adjustments, for accuracy.
  • Monitor legislative changes to maintain compliance with payroll regulations.
  • Audit payroll reports and tax filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on payroll-related projects and initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to streamline payroll processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
  • Manage system administration tasks for payroll and HRIS platforms effectively.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including multi-state payroll expertise.
  • Proficiency in Workday payroll systems and implementation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
  • CPP certification is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines effectively.
