Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for private equity and hedge fund clients in a hybrid work environment.
  • Oversee financial reporting, investor communications, and fund operations with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with auditors and tax teams to ensure seamless year-end processes and reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices across multiple fund engagements.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, fostering professional growth and team development.
  • Utilize advanced fund accounting systems and tools to manage complex calculations.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage client deliverables, ensuring alignment with partnership agreements and expectations.
  • Review and oversee complex fund calculations, including carried interest and waterfall models.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, capital account statements, and investor notices.
  • Coordinate capital call and distribution processes, ensuring timely execution.
  • Lead financial statement reviews and collaborate with auditors during year-end processes.
  • Train and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in fund administration.
  • Respond to client inquiries and ad hoc requests with professionalism and expertise.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in private equity or public accounting.
  • Proficiency in fund accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Excel, and Investran.
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in complex fund calculations and reporting.
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary to meet client deadlines.
