Job Description

Overview

  • Design and implement robust backend systems to support Earth Observation data integration and advanced AI-driven applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into scalable and efficient solutions.
  • Architect and maintain APIs ensuring reliability, fault tolerance, and high performance.
  • Develop and optimize workflows for geospatial and satellite imagery data processing.
  • Contribute to the integration of cutting-edge AI technologies, including LLMs, into production systems.
  • Implement MLOps practices to ensure the reliability and scalability of AI-enabled services.
  • Focus on operational excellence and secure system design to mitigate real-world failure risks.
  • Drive innovation in backend engineering to support the evolving needs of Earth Observation ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and maintain production-grade backend systems with a focus on reliability and observability.
  • Build and optimize REST APIs using Python and relational database modeling techniques.
  • Implement geospatial data workflows using tools like PostGIS and GDAL/rasterio.
  • Integrate AI technologies, including vector search systems, into backend services.
  • Collaborate with product teams to deliver customer-focused solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure cloud-based services are scalable, secure, and cost-efficient.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipeline development to uphold engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to the advancement of Earth Observation and satellite imagery technologies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend system development and operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Python and relational databases, particularly Postgres.
  • Experience with geospatial tools such as PostGIS and GDAL/rasterio.
  • Knowledge of vector search systems and workflow orchestration tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and MLOps practices for AI integration.
  • Strong commitment to clean code practices and engineering excellence.
