Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fund accounting operations for investment strategies, ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise accounting teams managing diverse fund portfolios and separate accounts.
  • Oversee monthly portfolio closings, including pricing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Review and approve quarterly and annual financial statements under U.S. GAAP.
  • Ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley controls and financial reporting standards.
  • Research and implement new accounting pronouncements and technical guidance.
  • Provide insights into fund performance and consolidated financial data.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address ad-hoc reporting requests and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and mentor accounting managers, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
  • Manage monthly portfolio closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review financial statements to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain robust financial controls in line with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Conduct research on accounting standards and integrate new practices effectively.
  • Analyze fund performance metrics and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting processes and data accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within fund accounting operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 12 years in fund accounting or financial management roles.
  • Preferred 14 years of experience in private equity or investment fund accounting.
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards.
  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills for researching and applying technical accounting guidance.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in hybrid work settings.
