Overview
- The Commercial Estimator will oversee cost estimation and bid preparation for diverse commercial construction projects.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate, competitive estimates and project success.
- Leverage advanced software tools to analyze requirements and develop detailed cost breakdowns.
- Identify scopes of work and create comprehensive bid lists for project execution.
- Prepare RFIs, proposals, and takeoffs to support bidding processes effectively.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications in all estimation activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to refine scopes and optimize cost efficiency.
- Contribute to delivering high-quality construction solutions aligned with client goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare detailed cost estimates using industry-standard software and methodologies.
- Develop RFIs, proposals, and takeoffs to facilitate accurate project bidding.
- Identify scopes of work and create detailed bid lists for execution planning.
- Collaborate with managers and stakeholders to refine project requirements.
- Analyze specifications and drawings to ensure competitive cost estimations.
- Utilize Bluebeam, MS Project, and other software to streamline estimation processes.
- Ensure compliance with standards and expectations in all estimation activities.
- Provide insights for cost-saving measures and project optimization strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial estimating experience; 4 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Project, and industry-standard estimating software.
- Experience in preparing RFIs, proposals, and takeoffs for construction projects.
- Ability to identify scopes of work and develop detailed bid lists.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams.
