Overview
- Provide clinical supervision and professional nursing care to patients in a dynamic healthcare setting.
- Coordinate care team activities, ensuring adherence to high standards of patient care and safety.
- Manage scheduling, delegation, and performance evaluations for care team staff.
- Administer medications and treatments, maintaining compliance with nursing standards and protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments, document progress, and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
- Support daily operations, including inventory management and preparation of clinical supplies.
- Participate in training and mentoring of staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants, delegating tasks and ensuring completion.
- Manage care team schedules, PTO requests, and daily huddles.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, documenting progress in electronic health records.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Review patient charts for missing labs or reports, ensuring comprehensive care delivery.
- Coordinate training and provide feedback for staff performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies, ensuring availability for patient care.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with unrestricted RN licensure in New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
- Knowledge of nursing theory, infection control, and patient confidentiality practices.
- Proficiency in electronic health records and medical chart reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to recommend solutions effectively.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently within scope of practice.
