Overview
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership to the patient care team, ensuring high standards of patient satisfaction and safety.
- Administer professional nursing care to patients, including medication management and treatment coordination.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and maintain quality standards.
- Organize and manage daily operations, including scheduling and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Participate in staff training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as needed.
- Document patient care and progress in the electronic health record system promptly.
- Support inventory management and ensure availability of clinical supplies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants on the care team.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and ensure their completion within scope of licensure.
- Coordinate daily huddles and review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following established protocols.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Manage clinical supplies inventory and ensure operational readiness.
- Provide feedback on staff performance and assist in recruitment and training processes.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active New York State RN licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in hospital or ambulatory settings.
- Proficient in electronic health record systems and medical chart reporting.
- Knowledge of infection control, safety standards, and patient confidentiality protocols.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work independently, make clinical decisions, and delegate tasks appropriately.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
