Overview
- Lead the tax strategy and compliance for a diverse portfolio of investment structures and products.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure institutional standards in tax documentation and due diligence.
- Provide expert tax advice on private equity, real estate, venture capital, and fixed income investments.
- Oversee tax compliance functions, including tax returns, estimates, and payments.
- Manage audits by federal, state, and local jurisdictions, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Evaluate and advise on tax aspects of restructuring proposals and investment opportunities.
- Work closely with portfolio companies to address complex tax issues and optimize strategies.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the tax team, fostering professional growth and excellence.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee tax compliance for private funds, securitizations, and CLOs, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to regulations.
- Review and approve tax returns, investor deliverables, and quarterly tax payments.
- Advise on tax structuring for investment opportunities and lead negotiations on acquisitions and restructurings.
- Collaborate with external tax counsel and borrowers to evaluate restructuring proposals.
- Manage audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Provide tax-related support to the front office and internal teams.
- Review and advise on tax aspects of international financing and royalty structures.
- Maintain relationships with major investors and provide exceptional client service.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
- CPA certification required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in tax compliance and consulting; 20 years preferred.
- Expertise in private funds, fund-of-funds, and alternative investment structures.
- Proficiency in reviewing LPAs, PPMs, and transactional documents.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to lead and supervise teams.
