Overview

  • Manage financial operations for commercial properties, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and reconciliations to provide actionable insights for property management.
  • Analyze accounts and perform audits to ensure precise recording of financial data.
  • Maintain schedules for depreciation, amortization, and other financial aspects to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software for efficient general ledger management and property accounting tasks.
  • Contribute to budget preparation and forecasting to support operational and financial planning.
  • Support audits and ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare monthly financial schedules, variance reports, and income statements to ensure accurate property accounting.
  • Manage general ledger entries and reconcile accounts to maintain compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist in audit preparation, analyze accounts, and resolve discrepancies effectively.
  • Maintain detailed schedules for depreciation, accruals, and other financial aspects.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Import budget data into accounting software and assist in reforecasting processes.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for cash and reserve accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Track utility expenses and payments for capital projects, ensuring proper allocation.
  • Review tenant work orders for accuracy and compliance with sales tax regulations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in real estate accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and property management software is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions at all levels.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate accounting practices is advantageous.
  • Experience with general ledger management and financial reconciliations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory compliance requirements.
