Overview

  • Support attorneys and legal staff by managing litigation docketing tasks with precision and adherence to firm policies.
  • Conduct thorough research on court rules, jurisdictional inquiries, and calendaring deadlines to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee complex legal document management, including writs, liens, bonds, and restraining orders.
  • Provide guidance and training to litigation docketing specialists, fostering professional development and team collaboration.
  • Troubleshoot and recommend improvements for calendaring software and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the firm's professional image in all interactions.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of resource guides for litigation docketing procedures.
  • Collaborate in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office and remote tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage docketing tasks across diverse case types, including civil, criminal, probate, and family law.
  • Conduct research on court orders and local rules to determine calendarable dates accurately.
  • Handle sealed cases and vexatious litigation, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to protocols.
  • Provide recommendations for improving calendaring procedures and software functionalities.
  • Assist in troubleshooting software issues with calendar program vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive resource guides for litigation docketing processes.
  • Monitor and communicate rule changes to legal personnel, ensuring compliance and awareness.
  • Support attorneys and staff with docketing-related inquiries and administrative tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of litigation docketing experience; large law firm experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and calendaring software like CompuLaw Vision.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and legal terminology.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration and training purposes.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional conduct.
