Overview

  • Provide specialized nursing care in a vascular operating room setting, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality surgical care and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Utilize critical thinking and advanced nursing skills to address complex patient needs during surgical procedures.
  • Participate in patient care planning, documentation, and post-operative assessments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and oversee patient positioning to ensure safety during vascular surgeries.
  • Administer pharmacological agents as required, adhering to established protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate patient care planning with other disciplines, utilizing nursing processes and critical thinking skills.
  • Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care processes as necessary.
  • Develop individual care plans based on initial nursing histories and patient assessments.
  • Ensure sterile techniques are adhered to during surgical procedures, maintaining patient safety.
  • Administer medications and manage IV lines as required, complying with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with physicians and specialists to address unexpected events or problems.
  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care and address their concerns effectively.
  • Participate in workplace health and safety initiatives, resolving issues proactively.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience; vascular or endovascular experience preferred.
  • Current RN licensure permitting work in the state and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques, patient positioning, and pharmacological administration.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to interpret and apply healthcare policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to organizational values.
