Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a pivotal contributor to fund accounting operations within a leading asset management firm.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team of accounting and tax professionals in a dynamic environment.
  • Lead impactful projects aimed at enhancing and modernizing accounting processes and systems.
  • Prepare and review fund and legal entity financial statements and disclosures.
  • Calculate investor allocations, distributions, and fund performance metrics as per agreements.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration with operations, legal, and investor relations teams.
  • Contribute to defining industry benchmarks for fund accounting best practices.
  • Work in a hybrid environment with opportunities for professional growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and audit fund and legal entity financial statements and related disclosures.
  • Calculate investor profit and loss allocations, distributions, and capital calls.
  • Review portfolio transactions for accuracy, including expenses and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing investor statements and special client reporting.
  • Research and support requests from investors, auditors, and internal teams.
  • Review quarterly valuation models for private equity and debt investments.
  • Contribute to the modernization of accounting processes and platforms.
  • Collaborate with administrators and investor relations for seamless operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in accounting or related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in hedge or private equity funds.
  • Professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of complex accounting rules and industry practices.
  • Exceptional math and Microsoft Excel skills for detailed financial analysis.
  • Knowledge of Advent Geneva software is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven project management abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of collaborating in a global cross-team environment.
