Overview

  • Lead the operating room team, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered surgical care and adherence to clinical standards.
  • Drive operational excellence by managing schedules, staffing, and resource utilization effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, enhancing staff engagement and patient satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and hospital policies for surgical safety and sterility.
  • Act as a liaison for surgical families, providing support and communication during procedures.
  • Analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize surgical outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Promote professional development and training opportunities for the operating room staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of the operating room, including scheduling and resource management.
  • Monitor surgical procedures to ensure adherence to safety and sterility standards.
  • Lead and mentor staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and patient care quality.
  • Ensure compliance with AORN guidelines and hospital policies for surgical operations.
  • Analyze and report operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance during complex procedures, ensuring optimal outcomes.
  • Facilitate effective communication between surgical teams, patients, and families.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in nursing or RN diploma required; BSN preferred.
  • Active registered nurse license in the state of practice or compact license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent surgical experience in a hospital setting.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience as Charge RN or OR Manager preferred.
  • Proficiency in robotics and orthopedics procedures is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of AORN guidelines and surgical safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage operations effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement performance improvement initiatives.
