Overview

  • Lead financial operations and reporting for a prestigious investment management firm, ensuring compliance and accuracy across complex fund structures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and enhance operational efficiency through innovative solutions.
  • Oversee audits, regulatory filings, and financial reporting, maintaining adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Design and implement scalable internal controls and processes to support organizational growth.
  • Utilize advanced accounting tools and technologies to optimize workflows and reporting accuracy.
  • Engage with external service providers to manage audits and ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Contribute to the launch of new funds and onboarding of innovative investment strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage month-end NAV close processes across diverse fund platforms, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Review reconciliations and resolve discrepancies, maintaining high standards of financial accuracy.
  • Oversee financial reporting and audits, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and industry regulations.
  • Coordinate regulatory filings, ensuring data accuracy and comprehensive documentation.
  • Collaborate with tax teams to ensure compliance and accurate reporting across fund structures.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and robust internal controls to enhance operational integrity.
  • Lead process improvements to streamline operations and support organizational scalability.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff, fostering professional growth and team excellence.
  • Support strategic projects, including fund launches and adoption of innovative investment strategies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including roles in Big Four and investment management firms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP and investment company accounting principles.
  • Proven experience managing financial reporting and audits for complex fund structures.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for investment advisers and fund vehicles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and portfolio accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop junior staff effectively.
  • Experience with AI tools for accounting and reporting workflows is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive ownership mindset.
