Overview

  • Play a pivotal role in estimating construction project costs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements for precise cost assessments.
  • Utilize advanced estimation tools and software to develop comprehensive cost reports and proposals.
  • Support bid preparation and submission processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.
  • Stay informed on market trends, material costs, and labor rates to optimize project budgets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering to enhance project outcomes.
  • Engage with clients to discuss project scopes, budgets, and estimation methodologies.
  • Ensure all estimation documentation is accurate, complete, and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and contracts to determine project requirements and costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to gather accurate cost data and insights.
  • Develop and maintain estimation templates and databases for consistent evaluations.
  • Assist project managers in budget planning and financial forecasting activities.
  • Review and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Provide technical input during bidding and negotiation phases to support project success.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all estimation practices.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with 5 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, such as Bluebeam or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction standards and practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse project teams.
  • Knowledge of market trends, material costs, and labor rates in the construction industry.
  • Experience with ESOP programs and understanding of their benefits is advantageous.
