  • Lead accounting operations at a prominent educational organization, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial reporting and processes.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies aligned with industry standards and organizational objectives for optimal financial management.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional growth and maintaining high-performance standards.
  • Coordinate annual audits, ensuring thorough preparation and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate across departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making processes.
  • Oversee financial software systems, ensuring functionality and alignment with operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations, maintaining organizational integrity.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate entries and timely financial reporting.
  • Supervise property fund operations, including billing, receivables, and reconciliation activities.
  • Prepare and analyze financial schedules for audits and organizational reporting.
  • Develop and enforce accounting policies to streamline processes and maintain compliance.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial systems and procedures.
  • Coordinate audit activities and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards.
  • Act as a liaison with IT for financial software updates and system enhancements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in supervisory roles.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
  • CPA certification is highly desirable for advanced accounting expertise.
  • Proficiency in managing complex financial systems and desktop productivity tools.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards and principles is essential.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills are required.
  • Experience in audit coordination and preparation of financial reports is necessary.
