Job Description

Overview

  • Lead acute care services, managing ICU and Medical Surgical departments to ensure exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement innovative strategies and elevate healthcare delivery standards.
  • Champion quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing staff, fostering professional growth and team collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards across acute care operations.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, optimizing resource allocation and financial sustainability.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to maintain high standards of care delivery.
  • Drive innovation in acute care services, implementing evidence-based practices and solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of ICU and Medical Surgical departments, ensuring seamless service delivery and patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize departmental efficiency and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to address patient care challenges and enhance interdisciplinary communication.
  • Monitor departmental performance against benchmarks, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Lead initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and healthcare quality within acute care settings.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial oversight.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for nursing staff to build a high-performing team.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations, standards, and accreditation requirements in all operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in acute care settings; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing ICU and Medical Surgical departments effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of hospital policies, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead performance improvement and CQI initiatives successfully.
  • Experience in budget formulation and resource management within healthcare settings.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
