Overview
- Lead tax reporting and compliance for a global organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and accuracy in financial disclosures.
- Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax filings, collaborating with internal teams and external providers for seamless operations.
- Oversee global tax provision calculations under ASC 740, driving compliance and efficiency across processes.
- Provide strategic guidance on tax implications of business transactions and legislative changes, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and collaborative success.
- Implement process improvements and automation in tax provision and compliance workflows for enhanced productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless financial reporting and forecasting alignment.
- Support corporate budgeting through accurate forecasts of tax expenses and effective tax rates.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review U.S. federal, state, and local corporate and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on complex corporate and partnership tax issues, providing insightful solutions.
- Direct federal, state, and local tax audits, liaising effectively with auditors and consultants.
- Monitor and advise on compliance impacts of new tax laws and regulations, ensuring organizational readiness.
- Manage quarterly and year-end tax provision processes for accurate financial disclosures and reporting.
- Lead initiatives to automate and optimize global tax provision workflows, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Provide tax guidance on business acquisitions, divestitures, and reorganizations, supporting strategic objectives.
- Identify and implement domestic planning projects to optimize tax rates and cash flow effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA certification required for technical proficiency.
- 10–15 years of tax experience, including roles in accounting firms and multinational corporations.
- Proficiency in global tax provisions under ASC 740 and related software like HFM and SAP.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on results and process improvement initiatives.
- Experience in industries with similar dynamics; music industry experience preferred but not required.
- MBA or CFA preferred for advanced strategic and financial insights.
- Ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to diverse stakeholders, ensuring understanding and compliance.
