Overview

  • Lead strategic asset management for a multifamily real estate portfolio, ensuring alignment with investment goals and maximizing performance.
  • Collaborate with acquisitions and finance teams to evaluate opportunities and oversee due diligence processes effectively.
  • Develop and implement asset-level business plans, including repositioning strategies and value-add initiatives.
  • Manage third-party property management teams to enhance leasing, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct financial analysis and performance reviews to ensure adherence to budget and underwriting goals.
  • Oversee capital expenditure planning and execution to optimize investment returns and asset value.
  • Prepare detailed investment reports and portfolio updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and lead junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and analytical excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage asset operations for a national multifamily portfolio, including Class A and B properties.
  • Supervise third-party property managers to ensure leasing, revenue, and expense optimization.
  • Lead budgeting and financial forecasting processes in collaboration with finance teams.
  • Analyze market trends and performance metrics to refine investment strategies.
  • Support acquisition processes, including underwriting and asset transition management.
  • Conduct property inspections and site visits to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Coordinate lender reporting and refinancing initiatives to meet financial objectives.
  • Implement strategies for capital projects and value-add initiatives to enhance portfolio value.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, or a related field.
  • 12–15 years of experience in multifamily asset management or related roles.
  • Proven expertise in managing institutional-quality portfolios and third-party property managers.
  • Strong background in acquisitions, underwriting, and investment analysis.
  • Proficiency with property management systems like Yardi or MRI.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for engaging with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel regularly for asset evaluation and investment opportunities.
  • Experience in real estate private equity or institutional investment platforms preferred.
