Overview

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform comprehensive dermatologic assessments, including patient history reviews and skin examinations, to diagnose and treat various conditions.
  • Execute advanced dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removals with precision and care.
  • Prescribe and manage appropriate medications and therapies tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests to support accurate and effective treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medication use, and preventive care strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic medical records.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of clinic-wide initiatives and improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and HIPAA standards to uphold patient confidentiality and care quality.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license and national certification (AANP/ANCC) are mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dermatology experience; 3 years preferred for optimal proficiency.
  • Certification in dermatology (DCNP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in performing dermatologic procedures and utilizing dermatoscopy effectively.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems for efficient documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to educate and engage patients effectively.
