Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct thorough dermatologic evaluations, including full-body skin exams and detailed patient histories.
- Diagnose and manage a variety of dermatologic conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
- Perform advanced procedures, including biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and dermatopathology results to guide treatment decisions.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and healthcare teams.
- Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and evidence-based practices.
- Educate patients on effective skin health strategies and disease prevention measures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance dermatology expertise and skills.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license and national certification in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 1 year of dermatology experience; 3 years preferred.
- Dermatology certification or commitment to obtain certification within one year.
- Proficiency in performing dermatologic procedures such as biopsies and cryotherapy.
- Familiarity with dermatoscopy and electronic medical record systems.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
- Dedication to serving in a rural healthcare setting and addressing community needs.
