Overview

  • Provide specialized dermatology care in a rural setting, focusing on patient-centered treatment and enhancing access to dermatologic services.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive evaluations and advanced dermatologic procedures.
  • Perform procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, lesion removal, and wound care with precision and expertise.
  • Educate patients on skin health, disease prevention, and personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using advanced electronic medical record systems.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay updated on dermatology advancements and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and HIPAA standards in all aspects of patient care.
  • Contribute to the growth of dermatology services in underserved areas through innovative and compassionate care delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct thorough dermatologic evaluations, including full-body skin exams and detailed patient histories.
  • Diagnose and manage a variety of dermatologic conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
  • Perform advanced procedures, including biopsies, cryotherapy, and lesion removal, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and dermatopathology results to guide treatment decisions.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and healthcare teams.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with licensure and evidence-based practices.
  • Educate patients on effective skin health strategies and disease prevention measures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance dermatology expertise and skills.

Job Requirements

  • Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
  • Active Nurse Practitioner license and national certification in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of dermatology experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Dermatology certification or commitment to obtain certification within one year.
  • Proficiency in performing dermatologic procedures such as biopsies and cryotherapy.
  • Familiarity with dermatoscopy and electronic medical record systems.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient education skills.
  • Dedication to serving in a rural healthcare setting and addressing community needs.
