Project Manager Overview

  • The Project Manager will oversee construction projects from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Serve as the primary contact for owners, design professionals, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts, ensuring financial performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and schedule milestones.
  • Support preconstruction efforts, including budgeting, constructability reviews, and value engineering.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring excellent communication and organizational skills.

Project Manager Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead construction projects through planning, procurement, execution, and closeout phases.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to identify potential issues and solutions.
  • Manage subcontractor buyout, contract administration, and change orders.
  • Monitor project costs, productivity, and financial performance, optimizing efficiency.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and ensure timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to maintain quality standards and jobsite safety.
  • Identify risks early and develop mitigation strategies proactively.

Project Manager Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience with commercial general contractors.
  • Experience managing projects valued between $5 million and $50 million preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
