Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and implement quality assurance protocols to meet ISO and AS standards, ensuring compliance and excellence.
- Develop and utilize inspection tooling and fixtures for precise component measurements and evaluations.
- Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software for accurate inspections.
- Conduct inspections using precision tools to ensure engineering specifications and quality standards are met.
- Analyze non-conformances, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize processes and enhance product quality.
- Generate detailed reports and analyze data to drive quality improvements and support decision-making.
- Ensure inspection equipment calibration and maintenance to maintain operational accuracy and reliability.
Quality Engineer Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using precision inspection tools and interpreting technical drawings effectively.
- Experience with CMM programming and operation, including knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and their application in manufacturing.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to address and resolve challenges.
