Quality Engineer Overview

  • The Quality Engineer ensures product excellence and compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environment, driving quality initiatives and fostering innovation.
  • Develop and implement robust quality management systems aligned with industry standards to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize advanced inspection tools and techniques to ensure precise measurements and adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality challenges and optimize manufacturing processes effectively.
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure calibration of inspection equipment to guarantee operational accuracy.

Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design and implement quality assurance protocols to meet ISO and AS standards, ensuring compliance and excellence.
  • Develop and utilize inspection tooling and fixtures for precise component measurements and evaluations.
  • Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) using PC-DMIS software for accurate inspections.
  • Conduct inspections using precision tools to ensure engineering specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Analyze non-conformances, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize processes and enhance product quality.
  • Generate detailed reports and analyze data to drive quality improvements and support decision-making.
  • Ensure inspection equipment calibration and maintenance to maintain operational accuracy and reliability.

Quality Engineer Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in using precision inspection tools and interpreting technical drawings effectively.
  • Experience with CMM programming and operation, including knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and their application in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams to address and resolve challenges.
