PICU Clinical Nurse Educator Overview

  • The PICU Clinical Nurse Educator will lead educational initiatives to enhance staff competencies and patient care quality in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
  • Develop and implement innovative training programs tailored to the unique needs of PICU staff and patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations through effective and engaging training strategies.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to design impactful educational curriculums that drive clinical excellence.
  • Promote staff growth by identifying development priorities and providing targeted learning opportunities.
  • Enhance onboarding processes for new clinical team members to ensure seamless integration and readiness.

PICU Clinical Nurse Educator Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate and evaluate clinical education activities to support the development of PICU staff expertise.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align educational programs with organizational goals and patient care standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify and prioritize training requirements for PICU personnel.
  • Develop and deliver engaging educational content using evidence-based methodologies and innovative techniques.

PICU Clinical Nurse Educator Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active RN license from the California Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of four years of clinical experience, preferably in pediatric intensive care settings.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of educational principles, healthcare regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively in diverse team environments.
