Nurse Educator Hospice Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for hospice staff, ensuring alignment with the latest care standards.
• Conduct competency assessments and provide constructive feedback to support staff development.
• Collaborate with leadership to identify and address educational needs within the organization.
• Support staff in obtaining relevant certifications and advancing their professional qualifications.

Nurse Educator Hospice Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of hospice care experience, with 6 years preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in New York State is mandatory.
• Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing (CHPN) preferred; willingness to obtain within the first year.
• Demonstrated experience in clinical education, mentoring, or preceptorship roles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and support staff.
• Ability to travel occasionally to other locations for training purposes.
