Equity Operations Associate Overview

  • The Equity Operations Associate will oversee operational processes for equity and credit trading activities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with trading desks, portfolio managers, and operations teams to support trade-related matters and improve operational workflows.
  • Apply knowledge of corporate actions, reconciliations, and P&L calculations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support onboarding processes for new brokers, custodians, and counterparties, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, combining on-site and remote work flexibility.
  • Leverage advanced Excel skills and order management systems to streamline and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to a dynamic team within a global multi-strategy hedge fund environment.

Equity Operations Associate Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee trade capture, affirmation, and reconciliation processes for equity and credit trading activities across global markets.
  • Manage corporate actions processing, ensuring accurate and timely updates in internal systems.
  • Perform cash and position reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies with prime brokers and custodians.
  • Coordinate with trading desks and portfolio managers to address settlement fails, pricing issues, and trade discrepancies.
  • Support private deal processing and DWAC/DRS transfer flows.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving trade flow processes, commission schedules, and operational documentation.
  • Apply basic P&L calculation knowledge to address portfolio management inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards and best practices within the investment management industry.

Equity Operations Associate Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in investment management or fund operations; 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and macros.
  • Experience with order management/portfolio management systems, such as Bloomberg AIM or FLEX, is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of custodian and prime brokerage relationships is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
  • Exposure to derivatives, fixed income, or multi-asset operations is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-team and external counterparty coordination.
