Registered Nurse Overview

  • The Registered Nurse will provide exceptional care to pediatric patients in a skilled nursing facility.
  • Work in a 5-star pediatric facility with a focus on sub-acute and long-term care.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address complex medical needs of children.
  • Perform 12-hour shifts, either day or night, in a supportive environment.
  • Opportunities for full-time (three shifts per week) or part-time schedules.
  • Training provided for tracheostomy and ventilator care, enhancing professional skills.
  • Gain experience in a facility with 122 beds dedicated to pediatric care.

Registered Nurse Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with complex medical needs.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, reporting changes to the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with families to educate and involve them in the care process.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Participate in training programs for tracheostomy and ventilator care.
  • Support a safe and nurturing environment for children in the facility.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans.

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics or critical care.
  • Experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Hospital experience is a plus, showcasing adaptability in various settings.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with families and team members.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to children.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including day and night rotations.
