Accounting and Tax Senior Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review various tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, corporate, and partnership filings.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with partners and managers on ad-hoc assignments and strategic projects.
  • Conduct tax planning, compliance, and research to ensure adherence to regulations and optimize outcomes.
  • Supervise and evaluate the work of accountants assigned to your workload.
  • Utilize accounting software such as UltraTax CS and Intuit products to streamline processes.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes.

Accounting and Tax Senior Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm, with a strong understanding of general accounting and tax preparation.
  • Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent multitasking, prioritization, and time management abilities.
