Commercial Leasing Attorney Overview

  • The Commercial Leasing Attorney will oversee legal aspects of commercial property leasing, ensuring compliance and negotiating agreements effectively.
  • Provide legal guidance for lease documents, tenant proposals, and modifications to ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with leasing agents to review lease terms, resolve disputes, and manage tenant communications.
  • Draft, revise, and negotiate leases, amendments, waivers, and other legal documents for commercial properties.
  • Assist in due diligence for property transactions, including purchase and sale contracts and closings.
  • Ensure compliance with lease obligations, exclusives, and restrictions to prevent violations and penalties.
  • Support departments with insurance claims, lease disputes, and tenant collections.
  • Manage eminent domain matters and government incentive applications effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records and oversee lease listings to ensure operational efficiency.

Commercial Leasing Attorney Job Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and licensed to practice law in New York.
  • Minimum of 5 years practicing law, with preferred experience of 7 years.
  • Specific expertise in commercial real estate leasing and contract negotiations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and excellent communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple real estate files effectively.
  • Knowledge of lease terms, obligations, and compliance requirements.
