Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Warmly greet patients and guests, ensuring effective communication and timely assistance throughout their visit.
- Monitor patient flow and proactively resolve issues related to registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
- Schedule patient appointments accurately, verify insurance coverage, and manage referral coordination.
- Assist care teams with initiatives such as health outcome surveys and closing gaps in care.
- Perform direct patient care tasks under supervision, including vital signs, diagnostic tests, and specimen collection.
- Document patient care information in electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Medical Assistant Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred for enhanced qualifications.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility to sit for certification exam within 18 months of hire required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting required; 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems essential for effective documentation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and ability to recognize patient status data.
- Demonstrated customer service excellence and ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Flexibility to work onsite during varying hours, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 6 PM.
