Trust and Estate Paralegal Overview

  • The Trust and Estate Paralegal will provide comprehensive legal support in estate and trust administration.

Trust and Estate Paralegal Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare probate filings for Maryland, District of Columbia, and Virginia jurisdictions.
  • Assist in estate and trust administration, including asset transfers and sales.
  • Draft and file Federal and State estate tax returns accurately.
  • Manage estate and trust administration timelines and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients and professionals to ensure smooth administration processes.
  • Utilize software tools for estate accounting and documentation preparation.
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Trust and Estate Paralegal Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estate, trusts, and probate administration.
  • Proficiency in probate-specific software, such as GEMS, EVP, and iManage.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client and professional interactions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
  • Understanding of estate and income tax concepts preferred.
