Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the accounting function at a forward-thinking technology company, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP standards and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with leadership to provide accurate financial data for operational scaling and growth initiatives.
  • Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and cash management, optimizing processes for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare for capital events or public offerings, ensuring audit readiness and robust financial controls.
  • Utilize advanced accounting systems and automation tools to enhance workflows and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop revenue recognition schedules in compliance with ASC 606 for subscription-based revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings.
  • Implement and enhance internal controls and accounting policies to support scaling operations.
  • Assist in preparing investor materials, including cap table management and financial reporting for equity rounds.
  • Evaluate and optimize accounting systems, integrating automation tools for improved workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA license preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in U.S. GAAP with expertise in ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Xero.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for managing month-end close processes.
  • Experience with equity compensation accounting and multi-state payroll compliance is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving priorities.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and platforms for accounting workflows is advantageous.
