Hedge Fund Accountant Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Analyze and prepare monthly reconciliations for general ledger accounts and fund balances.
• Calculate subadvisor management and incentive fees with precision and attention to detail.
• Perform shadow accounting to reconcile internal reporting with fund administrator records.
• Prepare and review wires, managing cash activity and ensuring effective cash flow operations.
• Evaluate and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
• Assist in preparing supporting documentation for annual audits and manager statements.
• Collaborate on ad hoc projects involving various organizational functions to drive innovation.

Hedge Fund Accountant Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant accounting experience; 10 years preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards and financial services industry practices.
• Proficiency in managing reconciliations, audits, and financial statement preparation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
