Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Perform all elements of litigation case management, including file management, case calendaring, discovery, and trial activities 
  • Assist with all aspects of discovery including collection, document production and review 
  • Draft documents/pleadings including, but not limited to, the following: subpoenas, deposition notices, document requests, document responses, responses to interrogatories, requests for admissions, complaints, and answers to complaints 
  • Cite check, Blue Book and proofread state and Federal filings 
  • Organizing electronic and hard copy files 
  • Conduct factual and basic legal research under attorney supervision 
  • Coordinate and oversee the tasks of more junior paralegals and other support staff as needed on large litigation matters 
  • Interact with outside entities (e.g. courts, government agencies, expert witnesses, corporations, vendors and other law firms) and coordinate activities as needed 
  • Continuously refine, develop, and expand skills in anticipation of changes in the work environment or profession 
  • Provide legal support across all phases of litigation and handle miscellaneous legal tasks that arise 

Qualifications: 

  • BS/BA, Paralegal associates degree or other relevant certification 
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a litigation paralegal  
  • Experience with all stages of litigation, including intake, discovery, and trial 
  • Experience preparing for and attending trials/arbitrations/hearings 
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc. 
  • Proficient with litigation software and document review platforms, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and docketing rules 
  • Experience with antitrust matters, HSR filings and DOJ/FTC review process a plus 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Must consistently demonstrate sound judgment
