Job Description

Summary:

A well-respected, well established Architecture firm in Dallas is looking to add a Mid-Level Architect to their growing team. The firm has been around for 30+ years, works on a variety of education and municipal projects and is interested in candidates in the 4-10 year range, licensed or close to being licensed.

This person will have the opportunity to work on all phases of projects, mentor younger designers and be mentored, meet with clients and consultants, work on interesting projects and carry out other day to day items.

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Develop architectural projects and implement plans for completion 
  • Integrate design and technical skills to produce and deliver construction documents 
  • Responsible for the coordination of project design and drawings, code compliance, and cost of constructability 
  • Prepare drawings and storyboards to outline project tasks, goals, and deadlines and present them to clients in a professional manner 
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop appropriate deliverable structure and necessary tasks for assessing the completion of each stage of the project 
  • Assist the Project Manager in budgeting and scheduling 
  • Review construction documents and manage quality control activities 
  • Alert the team and/or client when problems arise and make effective decisions to solve them 
  • Direct client invoicing and effectively manage collections 
  • Manage and track change orders and applications for payment by contractors 
  • Assist in the negotiation and development of project agreements and contracts 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field required 
  • At least 5 years of experience working in architecture or construction 
  • Registered Architect (RA) required 
  • Experience managing a team of design professionals 
  • Excellent technical, design, graphic, and presentation skills 
  • Proficiency in construction administration procedures 
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Proficient knowledge of all phases of architectural design projects; from project setup, programming, and design, to construction administration 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once 
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, ADA, etc.
